As you can see, the water level was way down but still a beautiful place.

Thanks for the views! Wow, there's really a good bit of fall color left up there! Lake Jocassee has some of the most beautiful water this side of Lake Tahoe!

I really like that lake; would like to be able to SCUBA dive there some day because of the clear water. I've been Kayaking there several times in October and the water was still comfortably warm even though the water is so deep.

Jocassee is my favorite lake around. As long as you can brave the frigid water it is perfect. There is a giant rock wall that is fun to climb and jump off of.

Also, Devil's Fork is a very cool campground that is on Jocassee.

I have a friend/neighbor who took scuba classes locally several years ago, and they dove at Jocassee...

We were boating here a few days ago and actually the water temps were not as cold as you'd think. It was rather warm and it was November. Now the boat ride was a bit chilly when going fast but overall a good day. I was surprised to see there were quite a few boats in the water.

It was also an added bonus to have the leaves still have some color. We were thinking the color would be mostly gone, but we were pleasantly surprised.

One year we went to Jocassee and there was a whole team of divers from the police dept practicing their diving there at the lake. They were staying for a few days.....practicing looking for bodies.

Would this be the giant wall that you're talking about?

Have you seen these youtubes of people jumping off the wall? So cool....
