I was listening to "Chuck FM" and suddenly remembered this same thing happened a few (OK, it could be 15) years ago - we had a radio station that played "everything" and was commercial free (it might have even been called "Charlie"), and after about 2 months became The Buzzard - 96.7. Heck, it could have been earlier and became 103X.
Either way, I suspect it's the way that companies get listeners to a certain new channel before they roll out the intended format.
Anyone who's been around here since at least 1990 - let me know if I'm completely nuts (not a new revelation) or if you recall this same scenario. If so, then it gets me wondering what KIND of format they are bringing in....
HailVictory, you're not nuts. I remember it too! In fact, when I first started reading this thread, I checked the date at the top to see if it was recent or something dredged up from years past :-)
Haven't noticed any dead time, but they are playing some decent music!
Yes, decent music indeed. So far, I have heard these great songs:
"Stand Back," Stevie Nicks
"Rebel Rebel," David Bowie
"Don't You Want Me," Human League
"Third Rate Romance," Sammy Kershaw
The station is playing 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s rock and country genres.
If you're listening to a radio station and there are advertisements to rent vehicle RIMs for "as low as" $86 a week... maybe it's time to call that super sonic payday loans and get some pimp rims today!!!!
