I got an email from Don Pablo's that the location on Haywood Rd has closed. Anyone been by there to confirm?
Not surprised. Seems like the ones in East Tennessee and Anderson closed 10-15 years ago. That location has been hanging on forever. Chipotle,Tijuana Flats, Moes and Chili's all just down the street. Tried Tijuana Flats today for the first time Taco Tuesday. Really liked it. Get a little tired of Moes and Chipotle all the time,
Wouldn't mind seeing Bennigan's return to that Don Pablos spot. They are growing again. That's a blast from the past.
Brookstone, Things Remembered and American Greetings out at Haywood Mall.
Bummer about American Greetings and Brookstone. The card store was really convenient for gift buying. Brookstone was unique too. I imagine I will miss that store for years to come like the Franklin Covey store.

Champs Sports has moved temporarily into the American Greetings spot while their old spot gets renovated and expanded including the old Things Remembered. Nothing going on in the Brookstone spot yet. Maybe they will return in a new spot and form. Haywood and Simon have always done a good job moving retailers around to refresh their spaces as others close.
Don Pablo's, 741 Haywood Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29607-2721
I doubt The Cheesecake Factory has anything to do with Don Pablo's closing. I think there are more Texan-Mexican cuisine restaurants where business has shifted from inferior participants to superior participants. Don Pablo's became an inferior participant that was not doing enough business.
the demise of Don Pablo's was due to Papa's and Beer opening on Haywood several years ago
when I moved to the area in '08, had friends recommend Monterrey's (by the Haywood mall) for Mexican - absolutely horrible - Greenville, with few exceptions, has been a wasteland for Tex-Mex/Mexican/Hispanic restaurants - only recently has this restaurant niche been improving - I have not tried Fonda Rosalinda's (heard mixed reviews from others) - Greenville now has some decent Taquerias
The Sunoco gas station on Hwy 101 in Greer, SC, off of i85 exit 60, across the street from the newer QT closed just a few weeks ago. The other gas station adjacent to QT is still open but appears to no longer sell diesel as their Diesel price only reads $0.00.
Noticed that Never on Sunday Greek restaurant has a real estate lease sign in front of it. I wonder if the food truck business contributed them them changing their business plan.
