Apparently the last remaining Radioshack locations may be closing due to bankruptcy. Very sad to see. Apparently additional clearance sales are now underway, and some of the remaining stores may reopen as Sprint stores but no more Radioshack. Looks like Cherrydale and Greer are the last local locations that will soon close.
Radioshack at Cherrydale already has "Store Closing" sign up.
One would think the future of that building would be bright especially with all the apartments close by coming online soon. I liked the Irish pub concept and the "Playwright" name. Maybe more casual Americanized with the menu(like a Bennigan's or TGIF) and not so fancy. DT already has plenty of high end. Also, adding delivery to all those apartments around it eventually would not be a bad idea for the next restaurant to occupy that building.
Just like Circuit City, I am sorry to see regional chain HHGregg close. That will only leave Best Buy as the major big box electronics retailer. Although Fry's and MicroCenter still exist in certain markets such as Atlanta.

Best buy will be going the way of the dinosaur eventually. With online retailers including shipping with the price, and it getting cheaper and cheaper to make electronics and ship them there's no need to shop at these stores, you can do better comparison shopping online and not have to be bothered by salespeople who usually don't know what they are talking about.
