Yes. So many other restaurants not far away probably contributed to that. There is still an Applebee's in Simpsonville and one on Haywood. No big loss IMO.

If you go down a little further, The Epicurean also closed recently. It is odd that four of the first nine resturants on that side all closed/will close within a few months...

I feel like this would be a good opportunity for Hardee’s to rebuild. The newer one on East Noth Street looks nice.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the first new Hardee's in the upstate area since Greenwood and Anderson back in 2000. The one on Wade Hampton in.. Taylors, I believe it was, burned down and was rebuilt around the same time.

Doesn't surprise me one bit about Applebees, Last time I ate at one it was like they just microwaved a tv dinner and served it too me. I haven't been back to one since because the experience was so horrible.

Chili's relocating to Simpsonville in August.

Krispy Kreme and Hardees the last one's? Are the buildings being bought out by someone?
Maybe to do with the gateway project?
I just came from there. The Applebees sign has been removed from the building. I find that very surprising. Every time I went by there during peak times it was busy; not good enough to get me to go in though.

After talking to several people that have worked at Applebee's, that is basically what you are getting with a lot of their food.

Wow. Didn't know about Applebees and Chili's on Woodruff Road. That's really weird how many restaurants in that stretch closed or relocated within like a six month period. You'd think that would be a good area for business but guess maybe the traffic dissuades people from making a trip there. Not that any of those are "destination" type restaurants, though I don't mind Chili's on occasion.

Not sure if anyone reported this one: The Olive Tree (tucked back a bit, right off N. Pleasantburg Drive) closed. Not sure how long ago but it was torn down when I drove by and they are building something else.

Did anyone ever go inside this place?

The Olive Tree was pretty good Italian fare and the Greek dishes were good, although I don't have a enough of a reference to compare them to. The Olive Tree in Mauldin is comparable for anyone still looking for one of their dishes.

They're building the Primrose School of Midtown Greenville in its place.
