Walmart will just move in and open up small format stores and do really well.

That won't happen with the 2 stores in the Greenville area. The Taylors BiLo is adjacent to the Taylors Wal-Mart superstore. Tappan Drive bisects the 2 parking lots. The Anderson Rd BiLo is literally 1 block from the Berea Wal-Mart superstore.

Bi-Lo presently has two stores off White Horse Road: #5006, 2712 Anderson Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611-5943; and #5581, 3220 West Blue Ridge Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29611-3939. Bi-Lo #5006 on Anderson Road, South Carolina 81, is the store that is closing. Bi-Lo #5581 on West Blue Ridge Drive, South Carolina 253, is remaining open.

I do not know if Walmart has been scouting sites in southwestern Greenville for future Neighborhood Market and Supercenter stores.

The Anderson Rd store is much further than 1 block from the Berea Walmart. You are thinking of the wrong store. You are thinking of the Bi-Lo next to KFC (West Blue Ridge) on Whitehorse Rd. The Anderson Rd Bi-Lo is much closer to I85 and is old and looks like a relic from the 80's. There is a Bi-Lo store just 4 minutes from the closing Anderson Rd store next to Kmart near the hospital still Right? and a Rite Aid/Sav-a lot at Anderson Rd and Whitehorse. BI-LO seems to have way too much store overlap in Greenville County with the stiff and growing competition they have now from Walmart,Publix and others like Aldi.

Bi-Lo #5006 opened sometime in the 1970's. Excluding grocery, meat, and produce, this location does not have any service departments. If you want to see a Bi-Lo that does not have bakery, delicatessen, floral, seafood and pharmacy departments, definitely check this store out for nostalgia before it closes.

Bi-Lo #5016, Kmart Plaza, 6 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442, remains open.

Rite Aid #11642, 3050 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611-7700, does feature a Sav-A-Lot Food Stores grocery section. It is useful for convenience.

You are right. I stand corrected. I occasionally shop at the Church St Bi-Lo at K-Mart Plaza because it is close to my work and it tends to stay fairly busy due to its proximity to Greenville Memorial, Chanticleer, and the Augusta Rd area. I don't think that Bi-Lo will consider closing that location any time soon.

Bi-Lo #5016 is safe from closing. It is constantly busy.

Bi-Lo #5581 would be a store to keep an eye on. I think it is a low performing store that struggles with a Walmart Supercenter store. It should be coming up on 20 years next year.

Default Bi-Lo Store Closings

New store hours are effective immediately for Bi-Lo #5289. It is open daily from 0800 hours to 2100 hours (8 am to 9 pm).

Bi-Lo #5006 was operating at its normal hours Wednesday. Its hours should be changing very soon.

I noticed this weekend that Gourmet Pizza on Augusta is gone and that Corona Mexican restaurant had relocated to the Gourmet Pizza location. Gourmet Pizza's quality and service had declined in the last couple of years, although I did like the fresh salad bar with homemade dressings at lunch M-F.

Also Costless Outlet on Augusta went out of business a few weeks ago. It was a really hit-or-miss kind of place. Sometimes they would have good stuff and other times nothing but junk. I don't think it was widely known that a lot of the stock was from Costco overruns and open box items.
