Sedran Furs is closing after 62 years in business.
That's the end of an era - a real piece of local history. The corner store at N Main & College really was the place for that business, although it attracted unwanted attention from the paint cans of the animal rights vandals at times.
Didnt look back too far to see if it was mentioned, but the Tire Exchange in Simpsonville has closed. (Dang it!) I dont know about the Mauldin location, havent been by it in a while. I hope the alignment guy went there if they are still open. Hes the best in the business!
I have noticed several Kangaroo Express stores in Greenville and Spartanburg counties closing.
Are any other Kangaroo Express stores in Greenville County besides store #547 in danger of closing? Store #3285, 5010 Pelham Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29615-5717, is priced high than its direct competition.
The Kangaroo on Rutherford rd. at Piedmont Park rd. closed a few weeks ago. Not sure if Circle K is re-opening but they removed the pumps and dug up the tanks, then started re painting.

It seems Kangaroo Express #579 has closed. If the tanks have not been replaced and filled up, it is doubtful the location will continue selling fuel.
Ford's Oyster House and Cajun Kitchen downtown has closed.
There was a change in the last year that made that location not as inviting for the casual diner. It's hard to put a finger on, but the outside didn't show the details that made it attractive to look further.

I stopped in for a drink there just last week with a friend. It was empty when we arrived as well as when we left. Something obviously wasn't working there. Actually, I think it's something about the location, as the last few enterprises there have failed to thrive, and yet other venues on the same block have done well, witness Pomegranate on Main.
I am fine with that... hope something good goes in there instead! :-P
