Kmart has lost ground to Walmart and Target in recent years. I do not know how much longer it will remain.

I do not want to think of more closures coming along Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville and Taylors. I do not know if Bi-Lo in Taylors near Walmart has closed yet, but it will be difficult to compete when Walmart Neighborhood Market down the road at Rushmore Drive opens. Shoppers like traditional supermarkets with Walmart's prices.
What is Walmart Neighborhood Market? A grocery store affilated with Walmart but not in a Walmart? Never heard of that.

Its a Walmart with grocery only, bakery, deli, pharmacy. Same format as Publix/ Bilo. Like a traditional grocer. For people who don't want the hassle of a supercenter.

Publix has it's new Greenwise store that competes with Whole Foods and The Fresh Market. Their only locations are in Florida. Be cool to see them expand to our area.

Oshman's was the ideal sporting goods store in Greenville in its day. It would be nice to have something like it again. Look forward to having Cabela's though.

Publix also feautures Publix Sabor, geared toward Hispanic communities, and Publix Pix, its fueling centers.

Greenwise stores, as stand alone units are not being expanded in any great depth by Publix. What Publix is doing, is expanding Publix "hybrid" stores. The word "hybrid" is only used as an internal company callout. About 50% of these stores are the merchandise sold in Greenwise. The newish store in Town Brookhaven in Atlanta is one of these hybrids.

Kimbrell's furniture store on Rutherford Road at Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors has closed. Its space is now a thrift store.

So sad, one of the last old-school drive inns. I'm surprised that they don't own the property though.
