Not sure what's going on but there was ad in newspaper today that Kmart stores in Mauldin and on Church St are having an inventory blowout sale. Most everything 5-30% off. Also said stores were not honoring the sales circulars for next few weeks.
NO mention of it being a liquidation sale so not sure what is going on. Anyone heard anything on the status of the Greenville area's last two KMart stores?
Wow! Freddy's was not open that long there....how many other restaurants occupied that property in the past?
Since I've lived here, it's been Jack in the Box, Metro Burger, Twisted Kitchen, Freddy's, and apparently now Panda Express. After that Jack in the Box closed, it was vacant for ages. The rest were in pretty quick succession. (I think Metro Burger opened in 2012.)

I have not heard anything in regards to the futures of Kmart stores 4016, Kmart Plaza, 1 Kmart Plaza, Greenville, South Carolina 29605-4442; and 7274, Mauldin Square, 129 West Butler Road, Mauldin, South Carolina 29662-2534. (Both stores have been open since 1981.) The future of Sears Holdings and the Sears and Kmart banners is uncertain with stores closing.
Hold on CK.The old Kmart across from the hospital was opened in the early to mid 60's.It was a HUGE deal back then.
Well before my time but
I believe that was the first Kmart in the upstate and maybe even the state although Columbia may hold that honor. I remember reading people would drive for hours to go to a Kmart back then. It was a big deal.

I distinctively remember going to that KMart in the mid to late 70s, usually after we left, I think Hamricks maybe. We use to count the out of state tags.

Ohh yeahhh JITB, thats what it was. Yeah idk about the location for PE, but we'll see. They arrived in the Charleston area circa 2013 and Columbia area not too long after, so maybe they have some broader SC plans.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that location. It has access to the light on Green Heron/Magnolia Park for folks wanting to exit left. Can't get any better on Woodruff than that. It just needs the right restaurant.
