If you live in a subdivision; does it have a Facebook page? How about Mauldin Patch? Announcements - Mauldin, SC Patch you can send Shawn (our editor) an email here shawn@patch.com

If you're not in Mauldin, I'm sure the other towns around Greenville have a Patch page; check it out!

Sorry a bit of a pet-pev here, but you really shouldn't post other people's email in an open forum. Even if it may be a very generic one.

We've recently found a large male dog, possibly 60lbs or larger, whom followed us home yesterday 2/6/2012. We have tried to find the owners around our community, but no one seems to know who it belongs to. We have posted an ad on CraigsList as well.

I need to find his owner or need help rehoming him to someone who cares. I definitely cannot keep him. I live in a small apartment, he is a big guy and I am a small girl. He does not seem too old and looks neutered. I do not want to hand out too much description due to the crazy coons faking information. I will NOT hand this dog to just anyone!! He is very sweet, goofy and highly energetic. Did I mention he's big?!!

I seriously need help finding this guy's home and I don't want to just give him up to a shelter. I don't trust shelters, not even Greenville Humane. When they are up to their necks in overpopulation, they might hand him over to a kill-shelter and clean their hands. No dog is going to be put to sleep in my hands, even if I can't keep him!!

He is a large breed and would do well in a large house setting. If you have a ranch or some real estate space, or even the patience and ability to handle, please inform.

If you are the owner or know someone who lost a large male, give a description of the dog: age, breed, coloring, and collar color OR provide pictures.

I have my doubts of finding the owner. His tag might have been ripped off on purpose.

Please spread the word! I have health issues and can't handle him well!
/if you don't give him to the local shelter, where the owner may have called and left a description, how can the older find him?? This forum isn't the way to find the owner, althought helpful. Do the right thing, put a free found add in your paper, or call the shelter to see if anyone is looking for him.

Where did you find this dog and what color or markings does it have? We have lost our dog and hoping to find him.

We have lost a Great Pyrenees dog and his is a white fluffy dog with a red collar and no tags or microchip. He is 70-80 pounds.

This post is a year old, not your dog. Go to ALL area shelters everyday and leave pictures. Don't expect them to call you. Give as many details as possible including last location. send a flyer out to all animal related things like vets and pet stores. Also place tons of flyers in the last seen area. Post an ad on craigslist everyday! Good luck and for goodness sakes if you get him back chip him and tag him!

Post on Facebook and ask all your local friends to repost. A lot of lost animals have found their way home through FB!
