Greenville County Schools - Statistics
(district website for all grades)
1.) Woodmont's enrollment IMO has for now tapped out at the 1,600s. They are actually smaller right now than they were back in 2010 at the same time. Very stagnate growth. With that being said they are adding on I'm assuming for the long term. ground is suppose to be broken by the end of the school year for additional classrooms.
2.) Hillcrest "tapped" out as far back as 2005 when you guessed it the new woodmont opened up and lines were shifted. i think brashier though has had an impact on both woodmont and hillcrest. not a HUGE impact, but certainly it can be seen.
3.) Mauldin's dip is due to kids now being sent to JL Mann. Mauldin's peak in the last 8 years was back in 2007. Again right before kids starting going to Mann from previous Mauldin geocodes.
4.) JL Mann is actually now the 3rd largest high school in the district. Almost a full 100 beyond it's original classroom capacity.
5.) For some reason and someone help me out Riverside which was suppose to have the same growing potential as golden strip area has really not grown that much recently. Riverside actually has 100 fewer kids in their building than they did back in 2009. In fact Riverside is under capacity. Odd for a new building that's been open for a few years now.
6.) Wade Hampton is seeing constant growth. same as woodmont but has yet to reach a "peak".
with the district wanting to have no school larger than 2,000 kids I wonder when it's all said and done someday what the schools will look like compared to years gone by. 2017 with Fountain Inn HS coming on board should be entertaining for the golden strip.
