Maybe crappy wiring?

We have lost signal two times total in 2 years of having Dish. Once was because we woke up in the morning and the Dish was completely covered in snow. We just cleared it off and it worked fine. The 2nd time was during a brief hail storm. Haven't had a single interruption other than that.

My mom has had Dish up in Illinois for years. It frequently goes out during heavy rain and thunderstorms. Most people I know with Dish have experienced the same. I think you have been pretty lucky.

I suppose, but I received a lot of first-hand experience from friends and co-workers expressing that they rarely lost signal before I ever considered getting under contract. I have found that to be true myself.

I've had Charter for years and can say I have never had the first problem. However, I have Dish at my office and every single time it rains hard, it goes out. That never has happened with Charter. Plus, I absolutely love the high speed internet.
