Just about to pay this bill and noticed this High Meleage Appeal Form - no idea what it was but looked it up and wondered how many other new comers (like me) even bother to look at this, especially for those who drive a lot:

County of Greenville, SC

Seems if you drive a little over 15,000 miles a year on average, your car may qualify - now, what you gain by doing this, I don't know. Does anyone know?

Just thought I'd pass this along for someone who may be able to get a lower rate, whatever it may be.

Don't expect it to take much but every little bit helps. My vehicle has high mileage so I take my bill by the Auditors office at County Square every year and they adjust it. Only takes a split second. I think this year it knocked around $15 off a 250.00 bill.

I've done this in the past. I sent in my paper bill stating I had high mileage and they sent me another bill with new fee. I think it was about 25.00+ knocked off. I'd definitely do it if I had the high mileage.

Darn, I sent in the check not realizing I was close to the mileage where I could do this! The bill really isn't due til end of April, I have less than 1000 miles to hit the high mileage. I wonder if I can appeal it even though I sent it. Geez, I can't believe I did that!

My bill for 2017 with Richland County was $502 and it came down to $418 on a Ford Explorer 2011 with 158,000.
