I am in Travelers Rest and we are here for the art & culinary festivals. Where do they start and end, and if we continue to have the monsoon rains will they both be cancelled? Also does anyone think that there are any places that are "must see" while I am here this weekend?

Thanks,
Fallgirl

p.s. What a relief to actually be cool and not dropping dead from the Florida heat and humidity - still in the 90's !!!!!!

Go Downtown and you will find the festivals. Tomorrow and Sunday are both good days to visit. Perhaps a ride over Paris Mountain on Altamont Road would be kinda fun since you're in the area. That is the toughest part of the US Pro Cycling Championship road race and it also is unique to this city being so close to downtown. Definitely at least drive thru Furman University as well.

This may be too late, but I should mention it is worth your time to visit Heritage Green in downtown as well. That is the block currently home to the acclaimed Greenville County Museum of Art, the classic Greenville Little Theatre, Hughes Main Library (2nd largest in SC), plus the future home of the Upcountry History Museum, The Children's Museum (largest in SC), and a satelite gallery (utilizing an old Coca-Cola bottling facility) for the World-renowned BJU Museum & Gallery.
