What if South Carolina or the Upstate legalized Marijuana?
Do you think it would help alleviate some of the tobacco related deaths?
Do you t hink it would help merge some of the crowds / hipsters?
I've been in California and Colorado where things are legal. It's interesting to see how well it's worked out for many. It's not out in your face as some might think and these cities i've lived in for short periods have bustling / rapid growth economies.
The tought part for them has been figuring out how to wrangle all the tax money they can from it. Lots of money being made under the table BUT at the same time, California would be in a HORRIBLE situation right now without it.
EVERYTHING has some up and down sides but do you think there would be more Pros or Cons?
For those that smoke or have smoked before, please post from a perspective of how it effected you .
I'm not a smoker personally of anything BUT I'm aware. This has been an illegal market for some time and to be quite frank, I saw a ranking officer from Greenville High as a Kite one time with his date or wife.. whichever........ so it's not a moral thing. It's a choice.

If the State of South Carolina legalized marijuana, it would be classified as a schedule I prescription only drug. Hurdles remain at the federal level to legalize marijuana and similar drugs.
If we legalize marijuana even if only for medical use, we can put an end to the meth problem. Pot isn't as damaging to health as meth is. Growing pot isn't as volatile as making meth. Our prisons are bursting at the seams, and we don't have the money to build more. We don't need this percentage of the population being supported by taxpayer money. The war has failed where pot is concerned. Legalizing it will create jobs that this state needs. The state can control growth and make money it desperately needs!

Yeap...Believe that's a given. ^^^^
But, can you imagine the Head Shops opening up down town? We'd have even more butt hurt/concerned folks here apposing, because it wouldn't align with their pie in the sky vision. Just my take...
Sounds like many dont mind the idea if it benefits the community with tax dollars. Would that be a fair assessment?
And yes, by 'legal' , I mean Medicinal cards.. but if you ever been to Cali or denver... you know how easy it is to get a card.. practically handing them out. On Venice Beach, literally.. handing out invites to come get a 'doctors' prescription LOL right nex to some guy witha ll these marijuana plant designed clothing, taking pictures with tourist haha
South Carolina will be one of the last states to legalize marijuana.
I agree with you, unfortunately. I've seen first hand how beneficial pot can be to those suffering from certain illnesses/diseases. It's sad to say that society would prefer people to suffer than to legalize it so they can get some relief. Someday they'll find that it prevents cancer cells from growing but none of us will live long enough to see it. Too bad!
