My roommate needs to find his beloved dog a new home very quickly. It's a long story but he isn't an irresponsible flake, he's a good dog-loving person who has always taken excellent care of his pet, but now finds himself in a position where he must move to another state for a job and he cannot take his dog with him.

The dog is 9 years old. Her name is Jenny. She is the sweetest dog in the world. So gentle, easy-going, gets along with all people, other pets, children, cats, etc. She is a dream dog. My friend originally rescued her from a shelter many years ago, she is a mix, a border collie/husky mix with one blue and one brown eye. She was spayed as a puppy and is up-to-date on her shots. Even though she's 9 she doesn't act it. She looks 4. She's mellowed a little bit, but she still loves to go on hikes in the mountains.

The Greenville Humane Society will not take her in because she is over 6 years old. The other shelter in the area is a "kill" facility and there's the possibility that she could be euthanized there. He has already contacted a bunch of other shelters and rescue organizations in the area and so far nobody has room for her.

any ideas? does anyone have interest in a beautiful older girl?

PS: I have a few pics of Jenny but don't know how to attach them to this post. If anyone wants to see her photos just send me a private message and I can forward them to you that way.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I will have my friend call Dr. Patch.

I can imagine that it was the hardest thing in the world to do. My friend is going to be terribly sad (well, he already is devastated having to find her a home... let alone the day he has to walk away).
