Default Colleges near Greer, please.

Ok I Googled a list of colleges near Greer, but could someone give me a list of the well known colleges? Which ones are the best to go to and which one should I stay away from. Community college or Universities are fine with me. I am looking more towards a college with apartments near them and at a reasonable price for college students. Any information would be appreciated.

The most reasonably priced 4 year school would be USC-Upstate in Spartanburg. For the most part the others are private schools and considerably more expensive. Those include Wofford in Spartanburg, and Furman in Greenville, as well as Bob Jones University in Greenville. Public community colleges include Spartanburg Community College and Greenville Tech, both of which have campuses in Greer.

Also check out North Greenville University (North Greenville University | Baptist Christian University in South Carolina) , which is just north of Greer.

Thanks y'all! Would you know anything about apartments near the colleges that have deals for students or a cheaper living for college students?

What are you trying to major in? I would think that would be more important first, then you look for colleges in the area that fit? Chances are it will narrow it down to one or two.

Most of the colleges listed here don't have a real college life so no cheaper student housing type deals. (ex. Furman requires students to live on campus and since you used the word "cheap" I don't think thats even an option for you). Best bet is just to find a cheaper apt. complex.

Business administrative. But I notice Spartanburg Cimmunity College has Medical Assisting so that interests me. I know here some of the smaller colleges have apartments near by and the office will cut their rent down if they are students. Didn't know if yuns had that or not. Or if you know of any apartment complex that offer deals to students.

I'm very much trying! I'm doing as much research as I can before September gets closer. I'm really confused with what to do with the schools I'm given; a four year or two college. I'll make it one way or another! I'll keep you posted though

Unless you will be paying cash for the education, I wouldn't even bother pursuing a college education unless I could be assured, upon graduation, I'd have paid for the education in full. The last thing you want is a degree from a mediocre school and a student loan in the tens of thousands of dollars with no job and no way to pay it off.

I'd make sure the school had student work study programs like they used to in the good old days, when your part-time job at the school was enough to pay for the education. This was before the GUBMINT started backing the BANKSTERS' student loans.... and then tuition costs skyrocketed and the quality of education plummeted.

You might even be better off just getting a job as with a degree, there is no guarantee you'd get a better job than you would without one ----unless you graduate at the top of your class at Harvard.

Remember, you are competing against people with degrees from prestigious schools that don't exist in SC who also have work experience.

These days I think any employer would tell you, work experience is more important than an undergraduate college degree or even a masters degree for that matter. You'd be better off asking to do an internship at a place where you want to work with a view to them hiring you full time at the end of your internship.
