Interesting idea.

Work on getting more fortune 500 company office jobs for the area and taller buildings in Greenville will come. In other words why put the cart before the horse? Why spend $ building taller buildings and then hope that people lease them....in this economy they may sit empty for a long time.

Very risky!

Uhhhh . . . nobody said that Greenville was putting "the cart before the horse."

He wasn't quoting anyone. He was making the initial suggestion that some of the ideas here would, in effect, be putting the cart before the horse. I have mixed feelings, but he might be right on this one.

I'm not sure that anyone has suggested building spec office space for the sake of having a new high-rise.

(Sorry, I just HAD to.)

An actual "signature tower" would attract tenants. Worrying about who will occupy it is almost moot. Shoot, I'd LOVE to put my tiny biz in a 50th floor office overlooking this beautiful area. Or the 75th floor. And I'm afraid of heights, so it would take me a week to finally look out the window. But remember: Location, location, location!
I thought there were more, but here is one. Maybe the other ones I saw were on another thread.

Ok, well they're also wanting a 50-75 story building. At some point you have to realize that they're either 1) not serious, or 2) not being realistic and can therefore be taken with a grain of salt.

I get your point, but a lot of people who aren't realistic get themselves and others into a lot of trouble. Might as well at least point out the error in thinking, and hope it helps.

Hi. I'm the "THEY," apparently. Thanks for the help.
