I need a recommendation for a mechanic. I live in Greer, work in Greenville, but would be willing to drive to Spartanburg for the right price.

I have a Chrysler (aka the PIA) and I need some work done...most notably the timing belt and water pump changed. I also found out today that the "shop" that had been changing my oil stripped out the oil plug and instead of telling me or fixing it correctly, glued the plug back in. It's looking like I'll need a new oil pan and gasket on top of all of it (the new place refused to change the oil for fear that they wouldn't be able to get the plug back in).

I'm looking for someone reputable who won't charge me an arm and a leg. Yes, I know, you get what you paid for, but when you're living from paycheck to paycheck...it's hard. I've been to North Hills and was happy with their service, but I found them to be overpriced. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I found them based on reviews from this forum.

Highly recommend Buchanan and Sons on Poinsett Highway in Greenville. Family owned for many, many years. Old-school. Very reasonable.
