Any body know of any lanes in the Greenville Spartanburg area that have duckpins.
We used to bowl that way when I was a kid in the 60s in Baltimore but I have not seen them since after we moved to FL as a kid in 67. [and have lived in FL, GA, NC, SC since)...I would really like to play the game with my grandkids because the ball is so much smaller! A lot better than an 8 lb ball and bumpers at the regular lane, JMO.
I haven't seen duckpin bowling since I lived in CT, and normal when I tell people about it, they think I'm making it up. Very rarely do I come across someone who knows what it is.
I grew up in the Detroit area in the 60s and never heard of it there. I just found out there are a number of them in RI though . Funny how some things we think should be extinct survive in select areas.
Guess we need a native Baltimorean club where we can meet and show off our Christmas Gardens and play duckpins and pinochle while eating our steamed crabs and drinking beer!

Why not! Would you let a Detroiter in if I brought Coney Island chilli dogs and Frankenmuth Fudge?
I used to go when I lived in Indianapolis. The lanes at Frankies Fun Park remind me of duckpin. The ball is about the same size but you only get 2 rolls instead of 3.
Go to frankies fun park. The machines they have are modern duckpin lanes. Now if you really wanted something unique you would ask for candlestick bowling or curling. Both would probably do well.
