Well, I live in Spartanburg so there's that. The Bi-Lo Center hasn't had a major renovation since it was constructed and opened in 1998. Technology has changed so much since then that the arena has to keep up with the times so it can land bigger and better events. The current acoustics, lighting, scoreboards, etc. are not only horrible in quality but also severely out of date. If this renovation wasn't done then the major events especially concerts would continue to go to elsewhere like Atlanta and Charlotte while bypassing Greenville. The more events the arena lands, the more people it will bring into town which in turn equals more money being spent in this area on hotels, restaurants, etc. It's economics 101. Definitely worth every penny.

Gman, the arena does need a lot of work but, I don't think concert promoters are looking at Bi Lo as an alternative to Time Warner or Phillips arenas.

wow, that's lame - the city should have gone after BMW or Michelin

agree with above, Bi-Lo needs to exit the Upstate - I don't shop there anymore - Kroger looking at you - I see some cheap stores for sale soon

Drop the "wellness". Too much. Bon Secours Arena sounds better.

It does seem that something else would be a better fit. No wonder our medical bills are so expensive.

Jesus, aren't there any talented branding people in Greenville? First "yeah, THAT Greenville" (horrible) and now the "Bon Secours Wellness Arena"?
