Is there a cheaper way to buy one, or is the store at Haywood the best option? Thanks

Websites like Overstock.com can have that kind of thing, but it's usually the version prior to the very latest one. Don't expect any kind of discount on any brand-new Apple product. That's the main reason I'm not on the Apple bandwagon. Can't afford it!

Yes, I agree. Thanks, by the way

If you want to get quality service and the assurance of not getting ripped, the obvious choice is the Apple store. I own a Mac, an iPad, an Apple Extreme router and an iPhone. I do not hesitate about where I shop.

Plus Apple controls their pricing. Authorized retailers ie Best Buy, Target, etc are not allowed to deeply discount the Apple products. OFten you will see deals like a Best Buy Gift card with iPad purchase, etc. The main issue you will find is that the sales agents simply don't know what they are talking about. Take Best Buy, they sell all kinds of products, and have a very small Apple section. Depending on the sales person you get, they might give you all kinds of wrong info.

Just go to Apple.

If you are looking for a deal and don't mind a slightly older version, the Apple web site store has a refurbished section. Everything comes with a warranty. I've purchased several computers that way and saved some money.

If you want quality help setting it up the Apple store is the way to go. Their customer service was awesome. I have the I Pad & I phone. Bought the phone through Verizon and we have corporate email. No one knows how to set it up except the Apple store. Everyone in my office comes to me when they get one. Also, I love Apple Care as opposed to Verizon insurance. $79 per yr. & covers everything. No monthly fee & no hassle. Verizon will not tell you this.

Cheapest way is if you have access to a credit card that provides 5%-20% cash back on computer equipment then find a trustworthy online retailer that doesn't charge sales tax for SC residents. (Example - Bank of America CC rewards / Newegg)

Or just go to Big Lots and get that no-name brand pad for $50!!!

That's what I did, sort of - got a chinese Android tablet online. It can tend to be slow on sites like Facebook, but hey - for less than $100, I'm NOT complaining!
