Greenville’s new pro soccer team will be called Greenville Triumph Soccer Club as a testament to the community’s indomitable spirit and the region’s ability to overcome adversity to transform itself into an enviable place to live, the ownership group announced Thursday.

Do people often triumph below the rest?

But if this team doesn't have a dog mascot smoking a cigar, they're not even trying.

That depends on if you fight the good fight...if you're willing to lay it on the line...never surrender. Otherwise, if you think you're going to triumph, you're living in a world of fantasy, and it'd take some real magic power to rise to the top. This may be the sport of kings, but it's not just a game.

(Sorry if these references are too obscure. I have a bad habit of taking things to the edge of excess.)

First thing that came to mind was great old brit motorcycles and sloppily thrown together cars that were 50's technology being sold in the 70's.

My first thought was “no, but I had an MG”

Good luck to the Triumph!

What adversity? Can we just not bring back the Grrrowl name? I know that was a different sport but come on, Triumph should be able to borrow it.

Where are they playing and what league? Same as the Charleston Battery?

USL Division III, which isn't actually a thing yet. This division's first season starts next year.

As for where they'll be playing:

"Since we announced (our founding), even before, we looked at where we are going to play. Not just next year but where our ultimate home will be," he said. "We are evaluating a short list of sites and hopefully in the fall we will announce coaches, a stadium for 2019, a stadium for 2020, uniforms and tryout dates.
If they know, they aren't telling yet.
