Checked out Carillion, very nice but above my price range. I,m going to check out Greer for some more affordable options.

Ridgecreek Estates Subdivision Homes For Sale and Real Estate Listings for Greer SC

This is in the Blue Ridge side of Greer, in fact you can see the mountains from this development. Plus, it's only 8 minutes from Wade Hampton.

Ridgecreek looks like a great option in our price range. We will drive that way this week to check out the neighborhood and views. Thank you!

You're welcome. It's a nice mix of families with young kids as well as retirees. Do you guys fit into either category?

Look at Northcliff and Poplar Forest on Foothills Road near Furman and Travelers Rest. Right on the SRT, share a big community pool and has beautiful mountain views. Houses are a little tight for me but it is a good family neighborhood.

How about those of us who dont want "community" (condo)living I hate sharing a wall
With my neighbor. I also dislike postage stamp lots where I can lean out the window
And shake hands with the people next door. I would like 1 or 2 acres but no so far removed that there is no one around. I also dont want to have to drive an hr to
Eat or shop. I also prefer older homes earlier than 1950.

I'd look around the Locust Hill Road area. It's country, but very populated country. You wouldn't be more than a half hour or so from eating and shopping.
