GREENVILLE, S.C., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- A South Carolina man who won $200,000 on a lottery scratch-off ticket told officials he had been living at a rescue mission.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the Greenville man, whose name was not released, won the prize on a $10 scratch-off ticket called The Color of Money and said the money will enable him to move out of the mission, WHNS-TV, Greenville, reported Monday.

Well good for him. Hopefully he spends it wisely and doesn't go crazy with it and lose it.

I wonder how he was able to buy a 10.00 ticket when he's homeless. Maybe someone gave it to him

I'll second your first comment. My response to the second is that it's not that uncommon for homeless people to come up with the money (some do work) to buy lotto tickets, cigarettes, alcohol and other non-necessities. The lack of money management skills is often a part of what gets people into the position of being homeless. Sadly, this man's win will just encourage others who can't afford to buy lotto tickets to keep doing so even though the odds of winning are incredibly slim. I hope this fellow has someone in his life who cares enough to help him learn to manage the money so he will never be homeless again.

Congrats to the person who won. I hope he had a goal of a better life for himself and will use that money to get there.

Queue 200K gone in 6 months...

Like what millers1987 said this just keeps folks hoping on a pipe dream of instant riches.

What he should do is sign up for a FPU class and learn how to grow that money.

Many a well-adjusted hard-working family man has squandered more lottery money than that
in a few months and ended up penniless and divorced. I hope this guy has some sense.
