I found this on the Greer City website while I was looking for something else (which I couldn't find)
and thought I'd pass it along as I don't think anyone's posted this before.
City Of Greer
Technology has provided a challenge for the City of Greer to communicate quickly and effectively with all residents. Greer Connect, a mass notification system, will help the city communicate during emergency situations with residents whether they're "plugged in" or not.
The system, powered by Blackboard Connect which has long been used in school systems nationwide, contains the telephone numbers of nearly 9,000 city residents and businesses. Those who do not have landline telephones may log into a web portal (link below) and register for emergency notifications.
