AMC has been renovating many of their theaters and they have all new reclining chairs. The AMC at Phipps Plaza in Atlanta just completed their renovation and is very nice.

Went by Great Escape this morning. Signs everywhere saying they were closed for inventory.

Maybe someday they will use all that space on that side of 385 around the theater to put a Mall!

Looks like its a done deal. Great Escapes website now redirects to Regal's website. The Simpsonville theater now shows up on Regal's website as well.

CNBC news article on the acquisition in case anyone is interested.

Article today on Knoxville (Home of Regal Cinemas) newspaper site regarding sale of the Indiana based 25 theater chain Great Escape to Regal. It is happening but didn't say how long it would take for the transition. Regal is buying it for 91 million so they must be counting every cup. LOL

Just thought I would check the prices. They matched the prices at the Hollywood 20 on Woodruff. So there goes any competition we had in the area.

Things will be different for Regal Simpsonville Stadium 14 & IMAX. Ticket prices will be higher.

Are you talking about where Greenville Mall used to be? That was the mall before Haywood Mall opened. Continued as a mostly empty mall for a long time after that. Now it's just an ugly mess.

No, this thread is about the Great Escape theater so my comment was about hoping for more commercial shopping growth in that area of Simpsonville. I hate Wooddruff in December.
