Used weightlifting equipment (Greenville, Spartanburg, Welcome: home, buying, price)

I am looking to start putting together a home gym so I can lift without having to drive to the gym. I've been scouring Craigslist and called Play It Again Sports, and there don't seem to be any local folks selling good quality used equipment, like benches, barbells, squat cages, etc.

Does anyone here know of anywhere else to look in the Greenville area, or know of anyone trying to do an anti-New Year's resolution and get rid of some equipment?

You already tried the things I was going to suggest. I bought equipment for my garage gym about 10 years ago, and purchased the squat rack, 300 lb olympic barbell set, and weight tree from Play it again Sports (on Pleasantburg Drive). Since then I added a dip belt and Power Blocks (which I highly recommend, as they are basically a full set of dumbbells in one and thus great for space saving).

Sorry I don't have any other ideas. If I think of any other options, I'll post here.

Depending on your price range, Piedmont Health and Fitness may be a good start. They are in Spartanburg (I know you specified Greenville area) but I had the same issue and ended up buying a recumbent bike from them after an extensive search. The link below is their website, however, it does not show all they have. You might want to start with a quick call and see if they can meet your needs. When I went, they had a wide selection of gym-quality equipment including free weights. Also, when I went, I was able to negotiate a good price, lower than marked.
