The Mohu has a minimal design, and sometimes a real antenna may be needed. You may want to try a Terk HDTVa, sold at HHG. It is one of the better indoor antennas. But see if they will price match Amazon or someone cheaper. And a very good but small outdoor antenna is the HBU-22 from Antennacraft, which is sold at Radioshack. It is optimized for HiVHF and UHF which is ideal for this market. Will fit in the attic or on the roof. And a low gain amp may be needed, such as a Winegard 269. But you don't want too much power or you will overload from strong nearby signals while trying to boost the weaker ones. Ans be sure and use RG6 cable which is probably cheapest at Walmart.
Folks forget the ease of indoor antennas, they are not gonna get you the results you want. Step back to 1980 and get a decent VHF/UHF antenna and put it on a pole as high as you can, and like TylerSC said good RG6 cable[by the way no cheap twist on connectors] and you will recieve all the networks and a whole lot more.
Playon is OK, feels sluggish and outdated on the Roku. Plex is a much better alternative.
