I have some silverware that I presently have on Ebay trying to sell. It's not getting much movement so I thought I'd take it all to one of those places that buys silver and gold to see what they might offer for it.
Is it solid silver, hollow, or weighted? Having that info in your listing will help. If it's solid or hollow then adding the weight in the description should help sell it as well. I don't know about local buyers, just pick up the phone and call around.
Plaza Coins and Knives is an honest place that buys silver. They have been there ~17 years. You won't get as much as you might get selling it on Craigslist, but it's less of a hassle and you don't have to meet a stranger somewhere to exchange cash and valuables.
A lot of "WE BUY GOLD!" places have popped up in the last two or three years, and while some are surely honest, you don't have as good of an idea of who you're dealing with.
Thanks for the responses. I had sold some gold at Southern Bullion and like their prices but didn't know if they bought silver. I'll go there then. :-)
