Oops...title should read "know" vs "now" (Mods-help, please adjust)...Advice being sought. For those transplants and natives alike..."What would be the top 3 things" you would advise someone who is relocating to the Greenville area?
Could range from location to buy a home, sights to see, things to avoid, things to remember, places to defintely go, shop, or eat.
Thanks in advance,
Spaceman

We were in Greenville on Thursday for the third time- wanted to make sure we were all on the same page with moving there; we loved it! (Son hated downtown, too busy for him, but that's okay)
I agree with the post above for places to see. One of the best things about Greenville is the location, near the mountains, without mountain weather.
I am a bit confused about all the fuss over Woodruff Rd., though. Does it get much worse on Sat.? If so, I will try to avoid it then, but we did not find it that terrible on a Thursday, midday. Is that because I am originally from NY? LOL!

Yes. I talked with someone connected to the county development and he said that when Greenridge was about to be built the developers implored the county to widen Woodruff to 3 lanes each way; the county poo-poo'd the idea. It is now the busiest road in the state and an utter nightmare.

If you are fortunate enough to be able to choose your times to travel Woodruff Rd to shop, it's not too bad. When it's bad, it's mostly because lane counts are too few with no access restrictions. So there are a hundred driveway accesses along the stretch with people coming, leaving, turning, and trying to cross. The busy times are Saturday or any busy shopping holiday - triple the backup if there's one or more accidents.
Woodruff Road is too crowded. No one goes there anymore.
