That's pretty amazing to me.I can't think of any other grocers who even own there own stores, much less whole retail centers of that size. Publix is a very strong retail operator, and they don't own any of their stores.I believe the largest owner of Publix anchored centers is Phillips Edison out of Cincinatti.

I think that is changing. According to this article Publix now owns a third of it's stores including shopping centers where they are located. They have been busy acquiring real estate as well.

But they still can't renovate the Moonville or Mauldin stores. Pathetic.
Ingle's Markets now owns all sites it operates its stores in Greenville County. It controls when it engages in capital projects to expand, rebuild, and replace stores.
Ingle's doesn't want any competitors to open new stores near so one of their tactics is to buy out the buildings where a potential competitor may build. I wonder what else they will plan to do with the rest of the building? Or, will they just rent it to the existing stores? I am not a fan of Ingle's honestly.
Ingle's #69, Cherrydale Point, 1500 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29609-2929
Ingle's #69 should be up for a remodel soon. Both entrance/exit points are getting vestibules. Checkouts are being replaced with conveyor belts. Deli is getting Chopsticks, pizza, and gelato. A Starbucks kiosk is going in.
A gas station is coming per speculation. It remains to be an Ingle's Gas Express or an I-Market convenience store.

Seems like they just refreshed that store a couple of years ago. It stays busy. I hope they remove that annoying 90's ceramic tile from the entrances. It is loud and annoying when you run the carts over it. LOL.
Is the Easley Ingles getting a remodel CK? I noticed they had a sign with a "remodel sale"on the front last week.
