Is there a state disability tax? (York: health insurance, salary, cost)

In New York they take a small amount of tax from your check for disability. This is used incase you need to have surgery or are ill and will receive a small amount of your salary for a short time while you are out of work. Does South Carolina have this?

There is withholding for disability insurance (long and/or short-term) but it's not required AFAIK for all companies. If a company provides disability insurance there is usually a withholding to cover your cost in it much like health insurance.
