My DSL order was cancelled until AT&T provisions my phone.
You can have stand alone DSL if available in your area but will pay I believe it's $10 more a month. You have to call though rather than do it online.

Standalone DSL is $5 more than the regular price a month. I've been considering doing that myself, but you don't get any discounts with standalone service and right now I get a $10 discount off DSL every month.

I searched for the "other cell phone" thread but there was no helpful info there, so I thought I would post here while this thread was active. Is SunCom a good provider? I saw mostly SunCom and Verizon stores while in Greenville, not that that necessarily means anything. I HATE VERIZON and my husband and I cannot wait to get out from underneath the tyrannical contract that is ruining our lives!! (Being a little dramatic, but.)

Anyway, Alltell seems to be another good choice. Who would you go with? What are the pros and cons of Alltell versus SunCom? Thanks!

I do know that TMOBILE bought out Suncom and they will be switching sometime in Sept. Well that is what they told me at Suncom. Our cell phone service is from TMOBILE and has been for quite a few years and I can't complain about the service or the customer service. Also, since we couldn't find anyone who would service our area for DSL we bought the Suncom data card for $50.00 a month for unlimited hours. It's definitely not as fast as DSL but faster then dial up. We also chose direct tv over charter. The direct tv guy who installed our service used to work for charter but he quit because he got tired of everytime he went to someone's house they would complain about Charter and the service which he agreed with them that it was terrible.

Good luck on whatever service you go with and I hope you have better chances of getting DSL then we have!!!

Thanks for the info! I found the article about that here: Unsupported Browser

I don't mind since T-Mobile would be our number one choice in major carriers. I wonder if I can get away with buying the cheap SunCom plan and being able to keep it after the acquisition, or if I should just sign up with T-Mobile now? And thank you to the person who mentioned the Alltell Verizon merge. You helped me dodge a bullet!
