Hi all,

I know the Upstate has a ton of custom homebuilders that build homes in the 300K+ range. I'm looking for a homebuilder that builds nice homes in the 200-300K range. Does anyone know of any?

SK Builders is the only one that I can think off the top. Mainly looking for someone that would build on my own lot/land versus buying/building in one of their subdivisions.

Don't use SK! We're still regretting that decision.

I think the OP is looking for a custom home builder on his on land/lot not a community.

Someone once mentioned to me about SouthStar Custom Builders in Greenville.

Schumacher Homes comes to mind. Don't know much about them, but they meet the criteria given by the OP. According to their website their homes start in the mid 100s and go up from there.

Check out Addison Homes. They are local builders who focus on "high performance" homes (energy-efficiency, very clean indoor air quality, durable materials, etc). They can build on your property and looks like within your price point.

They've won some regional/national awards and have been featured in local publications for their focus on green building. Website is Healthy, HighPerformance Homes | Addison Homes.

Currently my family is in a great neighborhood with no plans to move til the kids go to college, but when we downsize this is the builder I plan to use. Our house is 30 years old, not at all energy-efficient, and though we have plenty of square footage our floorplan really does have a lot of wasted space. It'll be a while til we build -- but having lived in a couple different houses I now know exactly what I'll want next time around.

It is called Rosewood Communities, but they will build a home on someone else's lot.

Was going to mention Quinn Satterfield as well. LS will also do custom home-building, and I think Milestone might be able to do something in that price range.

Can you share more? We've been looking at SK's communities, and liking what we saw. Plus they said that they can customize their plans, ie move this, add that, etc. What regrets are you having?
