Default Contemporary Catholic churches here?

Does anyone know if any of the area Catholic churches are considered more contemporary than another? We went to one this weekend and I felt like I was 10 years old again and wondered if they knew that Vatican II actually happened? LOL...no disrepect at all intended. The mass was very solemn, lots of traditional organ music and hymns. My family is used to the churches we had in Florida which incorporated contemporary Christian music into the mass. Don't necessary need a LifeTeen service, but something more along those lines that I can keep teenagers and tweens interested in? Willing to go anywhere in the area. Thanks so much.

where did you go? While I think that St. Mary's downtown is beautiful , I feel like it has a very old time feel to it. We are members of St. Mary Magdalene on Woodruff Rd. We love it there. I think they offer a lot to do with the kids. Depending on the preist, is how the mass goes, one I think is particularly slow. But they offer a time to get the kids for a mini bible lesson, which I think is great. Anyway, hope this helps. Not sure about any other churches.

Get thee to Prince of Peace. It has all of the Post Vatican II stuff I find so repugnant; folk masses, teen masses, nuns in business suits and lipstick, Peter Paul and Mary hymns, etc. Welcome to Prince of Peace Catholic Church

In fact it's like an ecclesiastical advertisement for the book Why Catholics Can't Sing by Thomas Day. I really can't stand that type of Catholicism Wow! but it sounds like it may be your cup of tea.

(sorry for the bitter tone)
