My partner and I found all of Greenville to be accepting, but you will find more gay men in downtown, West End, Overbrook and North Main.
DON'T expect Pride parades, rainbow flags, a great bar scene, etc. DO expect white collar gay couples in their German autos and fun, private dinner parties.

Its not im gay and live in greenville theres always some homophobic person who has to make a comment about eww thats gross or yuck and you dont even have to be holding hands. But what i say is screw them be yourself and hold hands if you want dont let them ruin where u wanna live. Let your gay flag fly just as i do and be yourself and screw them if they dont like it they can look away or stay at home

Or even Asheville or Charlotte. And apparently Charlotte, while traditionally a conservative city, now has a big gay pride parade and a decent variety of nightclubs and nightlife. But of course, Atlanta would likely have the most to offer, as mentioned. Whereas Greenville is a nice small conservative city, it is not necessarily known as "gay friendly." But apparently some homosexuals do indeed live here. it is just more subdued.

Or Columbia; Columbia had over 30,000 for Gay Pride last weekend.

And Columbia's mayor just signed a document supporting marriage equality and publicly stated his support for the same.

300,000??? Columbia's population is only around 100,000.

Personally, I would go to either Atlanta, Raleigh, or Savannah. Asheville, while liberal, is dead. There has never been a good economy in the city.

I said 30,000. Metro Columbia's population is 800,000.
