We are looking for a new, larger house for our growing family. We would like a new house and we identified a neighborhood we would like to be in. In that neighborhood, Crown communities took over the vacant lots and we out a contract down on a spec home there. Before our contract, we were treated very nicely; however, afterwards, we've been treated like we are an annoyance. My husband is being very picky with the quality, because we weren't with our first home and paid for it- had problems later (it was a Ryan home- awful quality!). We were going the house a lot and seeing what had been done and checking on things, but once the builder and salesman noticed we were up there a lot, they started locking the home. They also do not allow us to speak directly with the builder about major concerns and the salesman does not communicate to him for us. Is poor service typical with Crown? I'm starting to get second thoughts all because of service.
Any other people have any positive or negative experience with Crown Communities in Greenville?

They built the model house in Morning Mist in like two months. Practically went up over night it seemed like.

I sat and watched their roofers put shingles over bare wood on one of the houses, no underlayment was on the sheathing. They do stick built houses faster than Ryan does panel built ones I feel bad for anyone that buys one of theirs!

We got out of the contract and met with them to fight for our escrow back. The vp was very nice and didnt give us a hard time, but they still scare me! So glad we dodged that one!

Don't know if they are same as Crown Homes in Augusta/N augusta but those crown homes while large in size were very cheaply made and I would never consider buying one

I hate to say it, but the newer Crown houses in Fox Trace look terrible next to the Adams houses. Stained siding, garage doors askew, boxy shape, etc. Does anyone know why they are coming in anyway?

They also moved into Morning Mist. I hated to see that and was hoping for a better quality builder. I've noticed that the model home is not getting a lot of visitors, but they have 99 lots to fill.
