Yes, correlation does not equal causation. The opposite is also not true. If you have a strong, consistent correlation between two events, it is rare that there is not some underlying cause tying the two items together. Wile one may not directly cause the other, it is unusual for there not to be either a direct or indirect factor that ties the two items together.
So, while there is nothing in the water or air in SC that makes men kill women, if we have led the nation in murders of men by women for almost a decade, it is probably a good idea to try to figure out why and then to work on reducing those factors which contribute to this sad statistic.
