Streets are for cars; for parking and driving. I don't see the problem with this at all. Cars on the lawn, however, that's unacceptable. Cars aren't parking lots.

yeah but if the street is too narrow, and you can't see to pull in and out of your driveway, or if you can't pull out because your neighbor has like 5 people parked all over the street, its a problem, I believe that is what we are discussing, no? oh and I don't get parking on the lawn either, lots of people did that in ohio where I lived, I just think it makes you look trashy, but I guess if you own the property, its your decision, lol

We called up our HOA about that and they said they would send him a warning about parking on the lawn. Two cars in the driveway and two on the lawn. No access to Garage since it is not cleaned out. What I don't understand is that they just within a year put all new sod in and now it looks like well you no what I want to say.

Street Parking ---
We just moved into a gated community in Central florida with 36 houses. Out of the 36 houses -- we have one NEW neighbor as of 4/1 -- that has people come over Park on the street....across from my driveway. Now let me preface -- NEW subdivision -- the roads are not at wide as the older communities -- so needless to say this is a pain in the butt. So I have to agree with those on this forum -- who have issues with people that do not use their driveways...these folks have a three car garage driveway with only two cars. Our other neighbors have a two car -- and when they have company amazing enough they can fit 6 cars in the driveway easy....but not the new guys -- they can only put two cars in the driveway....so whoever put the post about getting an old clunker and playing bumper cars -- count me in!!!!

Amen! Our neighborhood bylaws say no parking but it is never enforced. I think it depends on the neighborhood and how the board enforces it. Very trashy looking too and the streets are not that wide.

I agree-this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Streets are not for parking--unless you live in a dowtown environment where there are designated parking spots. Most city/county streets are not designed for people to park on---most are 24' wide and by the time you get people parking on both sides you barely have enough room for one lane of travel. In my neighborhood people do it all the time and it drives me crazy. There is a reason that most cities and townships have regulations against onstreet parking........Lets see what happens when a fire truck has to get through your neighborhood....They will not hesitate to politely relocate your vehicle.
clean out your freaking garage's of all of the useless crap, and if you have more vehicles than your driveway/garage can hold---park in the designated overflow/guest spaces provided by your neighborhood.

I totally agree, I made sure that the new home I bought had plenty of driveway/garage space, even though I'm buying on a dead end street, its just rude to park in the road in that situation.

Parking in our neighborhood roads is prohibited. To the best of knowledge it has NEVER been enforced. About one out of three/four houses have a car in the road. I really enjoy coming home late at night. It's an obstacle course just to get to our house.
