Default Is Mauldin Still Elite?

I lived in Knollwood in the 80's and went to Mauldin High. It was an up and coming suburb. Is it still so? Or has Simpsonville become the new Mauldin?

Let's just say they're both growing like mad. It seems like a new grocery store opens every day down there.

I will be interested in seeing the latest census numbers after 2010. Both are growing steadily, with more dense neighborhoods popping up in places I would never have imagined a few years ago.

Winn Dixie is no longer in town. Out of business. Bi-lo and Ingles are still here, although Bi-Lo has been bought out a couple of times. But their corporate offices are still here in Mauldin, across from Knollwood. Also have Publix now. Even our KMart is still here.

They tore down the old Winn-Dixie and built a new Publix on the site about 2 to 3 years ago.
