Wasn't this supposed to happen 2 years ago? (at least it seems it's been a while since the initial news came out about it).

Different company. That was Amy's Kitchen that was announced several years ago and was supposed to open there wasn't it? For some reason it didn't go.

Access to organic crops is why Amy's Kitchen is expanding in Oregon, not South Carolina | OregonLive.com

Google searching shows that as of December, 2011 (Amy's buying the plant was first reported around May, 2011) they were already backpedaling on taking it over. "Unexpected delays" and so on.

It appears that, unless they sold the building to this new place.. They still own the building and are just renting it out.

It would be nice to see the facility being used for something besides no activity.

Thanks for the info. I was too lazy to do a google fu and couldn't remember the original buyer. Incidentally many years ago I put in a closed monitoring system in their breakroom there to show HR powerpoints with announcements, etc. Man that place smelled gooooood.

I often wonder why when I drive by there every morning for the past 2 years there is a car or cars there and sometimes people standing outside, you think they have been cleaning it up? I thought amy's backed out because it would take too much work to fix it up??

I had heard from a good source that there was a "contamination issue" in the building.

They are definitely gutting the building, major renovation going on. Great to see this building put to use
