Default Buying a Boat - Excise tax, sales tax, property tax???

Question for anyone who may have experience in this...

I am in the process of buying a new boat from a dealer in South Carolina.

I currently have residence in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina - However, boat will primarily be used in South Carolina (Lake Keowee).

I have been reading on the SC DNR website and am getting confusing information regarding what fees/taxes I will be looking at paying.

If I buy a boat in SC and register it in SC, what fees am I looking at? I noticed the excise tax of around $500, and then property tax? Are both of those YEARLY taxes I would need to pay? Is the property tax based on a percentage?

Also, what would the sales tax be on the boat?

Thanks for any input!
Craig
