Errr....environmentally irresponsible..... that would be me....
I should mention that I work for an oil company and as I type I am sitting about 30 miles offshore of India in the Bay of Bengal stealing from mother earth....liquid natural gas in this case.... but hey..... I got a new home on the way, boat that will need lots of gas this summer and a diesel swillin pickup to tow it.... not to mention a kid to put through college...... so....that may skew my view a bit... PS....keep buying SUV's everyone....
Sorry to get off topic. But also the nature of my job doesn't allow me time to buy an existing home and put a lil bit of TLC into it. I travel extensively. So this is another reason we are building new....
Just another point of view.... everybodies life situation is different.

there are brand new homes up and down Augusta road that have sat empty and for sale for 3 years (that I know of) so if I had anyone looking after only a few week I would be Happy!

A friend of mine recently decided to put a house on the market near downtown. He went out to the street to post a sign and literally less than 30 minutes later was talking with a very strong potential buyer on the phone who offered more than my friend was asking for the place. That's seriously good fortune.

I found one other website
I have just moved to Greenville in Jan. I have been looking for a house all over the internet. I found a great price on a house and the website owner helped me out with contracts, comps. I have never bought a fsbo, but they really helped me out.
The website is

Thanks Stacia1,
I too have been searching the internet for awhile and will be arriving in Greenville next week to find a house. I hadn't seen that website.
I'll be curious to see how long some of the houses on my list have been on the market. I'd like to live fairly close to downtown, maybe in the Augusta Road area.

There are tons of homes for sell in Augusta Rd area. Several of them, I know have been for sale for 3 years,As long as we have lived here.Where in Tennessee are you living? I used to live in Knoxville, My parents still live there, but We have lived all over the country it seems. Any questions I can answer I would be happy to assist.

We're currently living in Cookeville, TN. The homes in the Augusta Rd. area that I'm interested in are fairly large (3000 sq ft and up), older homes, most without garages (we'd want to build one). The streets are Tallulah, Woodvale, Sunset, Boxwood, and Longview Terrace. Do you think they might be overpriced for their age and condition? It seems like it would be nice to live within walking distance of Cleveland Park, or maybe the Greenville CC. We get out for walks/jogs quite often.
What areas would you recommend that are fairly close to downtown and the airport?
