I could of sworn I drove past a local factory that made it, then I glanced at my jar in the fridge and thought it said New Jersey on it? Made me question whether it was local?
Dukes mayonnaise (not local) and Duke Sandwich Company (local) are two completely separate businesses. Both businesses originated in Greenville, but the mayo factory is owned by C. F. Sauer of Richmond, Va. I do not like the mayo, but many locals do.
Guess I wont be earning those brownie points. Thanks for thr clarification. As somewhat of a newbie of sorts was told it was local.
I dont like mayo either but boy, have I been told time and time again I've heard now that I need to try a mater and mayo sandwich, and it has to be Duke's...probably not going to happen.
a jar of boiled peanuts (or however boiled peanuts should be contained lol) and maybe a copy of the book "Goodnight Moon", which was authored by a local author.

Mice on Main is local - the book is not - a CCES student got the idea of having the sculptures of nine mice from the book.
Mint pecans from Vaughn-Russell candy store on Augusta.

Margaret Wise Brown wrote Goodnight Moon and was not a local author. She lived in the New England area.
I second the suggestion for honey from Carolina Honey Bee Co. In TR. Someone gave me a jar when we first moved here and it's delicious. I just bought some honey coated pecans from them as teachers gifts. They are on Main St near Sunrift Adventures. Also like the bags of coffee at The Forest down the street.
Best idea on this thread. The goat cheese is a close second.
I agree. Who wouldn't be thrilled with a BMW built in Greenville?
