Hotel for Christmas
The family and I are just going to relax this year instead of doing a bunch of traveling so we were going to get a hotel upstate and enjoy ourselves. I was just wondering if y'all had any recommendations. It would be nice to be close to downtown or somewhere we can just get out and walk around a bit, but it doesn't have to be too close if it's going to jack prices up a bunch.
It's about 2.5 hours from here so we'll probably get up Saturday morning to head over and stay until Monday morning. 2 nights with 2 adults and a 7 year old.
I appreciate any help. I have a few I was looking at but I'd rather just hear suggestions.
*Edit - and an indoor pool is a plus. My daughter loves hotels for the fact that she gets to swim and it may be too cold for an outdoor pool.

Check out Priceline do com. I used them several times and got great hotels for a very good price. If you go to the site it will list many hotels in the downtown area. If you don't like doing the bidding thing -- try hotels dot com. I have used them as well and got decent prices and a good quality hotels as well.
good luck.

There is the Hyatt, Hampton Inn and the Pointsett Hotel which are all downtown. I think the Hyatt is the only one with a pool. Other nice hotels in the area you'd need to drive to get downtown. I'm sure you can find a good deal on any of the three, for example, a quick search of Travelocity gives a price of $109 for the Hyatt.

Try these: - The Westin Poinsett
- The Hyatt Regency
- Hampton Inn & Suites RiverPlace
- Holiday Inn Express Downtown
- The Hilton
- The Phoenix, Greenville's Inn
- Drury Inn & Suites
...
Of the ones listed, I likely would choose The Hilton Greenville for your family. It is located just off of Haywood Road and I-385, a very short drive from downtown. The super-regional Haywood Mall is about a quarter of a mile away and there are several nice places to shop and dine surrounding the hotel. Yes, there is even a heated indoor pool for the kids!

Thanks, y'all. The three I was looking at were the Hilton, the Hyatt, and Hawthorn Suites. The Hilton is the one we were looking at primarilly because it seemed to be the only with a pool indoors, plus it's only $90/night right now. The shopping & eating sounds great, too. Thanks!
