I would appreciate any recommendations. It appears my crown is chipped, and it's probably just a matter of time before it's gone completely. We arrived in town today, and have movers coming tomorrow. I would like to start the dental process in about a week, if possible. Thank you.

Are there any reasonable dentists within an hour of Greer?

I recommend Jack Davis. I've had 2 friends in similar situations and both went, both were happy. Not a fancy office, old timey Dr., but many others besides myself like him.

Good luck!

The dentist in this are crooks. They will steal you and your insurance company blind. For example...a simple cleaning in Arizona and the southwest with no insurance is $40-$50 dollars and about a 30 minute visit. Here it will cost you about $150 above and beyond what they charge the insurance company. Now, some people will see that is only the cost after the first visit, but the price I stated is at the first visit. So you make the decision..

In researching Becky's suggestion of the dental school (THANK YOU, Becky), I found a price list for cleanings and xrays. It is very reasonable. In fact, if you are 55 and over, the cleaning is $10. Otherwise, $20. The xray prices are reasonable. You may want to give them a call in the future. Their number is 864-250-8126.

Thanks, ALL. If the dental school can not meet my needs, I will definitely give Dr. Davis's office a call.

I apologize for not using the search feature. After I posted, I realized I should have tried that first. It's been a long day, lol.

Update: I saw Dr. Davis today. The good news is that I don't need a new crown. He was able to do some filing of the rough edges so I would be more comfortable. I also got my teeth cleaned and x-rays done. All this for $65 out the door. I am thrilled. The doctor is great, and the hygienist was fabulous. I will return there for all future needs. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE RECOMMENDATION.

Default Help with Pet Surgery

Does anyone know of an organization that will help me with surgery for my pet? He has "cherry eye" and it gets worse and worse each day.

You would probably get more replies if you started your own thread about pet surgery help rather than posting in this thread about dentists...
