Hello, my husband and I are considering relocating to the Greenville or Simpsonville area from our current home in Greensboro, North Carolina, and we are wondering what houses rent for in these areas. Of course, we know it depends on the square footage and we are looking for a minimum of about 1500 sq. ft. and need to know what we can expect to pay for a decent house. We do not need an upscale house, just a regular house that is in good condition and clean. I would appreciate any information you wish to share with me. Thank you, Dorothy
NOOO, this is so completely wrong. Houses in nice, suburban (aka cookie-cutter), all-amenties, 2000-2300 sq foot, in Five Forks/Simpsonville/Taylors area are about $1200-1400..give or take.
A 1500 sq foot house in a good area...probably $1000-1200.
Ain't nobody paying or asking $2800 for a rental in the Greenville area, unless its 3000+sq foot, mansion like.
Yea, 2800 is not accurte but I've never seen a nice safe house that size go for under 1500. I've been looking for 3yrs as we HATE our current rental. It's a landlords market here unfortunelty.
OP, you can just as easily look this up yourself by scouring Craigslist for a few days.
We pay $1275 for a 2200sq foot rental 4 bed/3bth (house is 10 years old) in a subdivision off of Hwy 14, between Rpr Mountain and Pelham, for 3years. I've seen other houses in my subdivision for rental for $1250-$1400. My neighbor pays $1250 (we've chatted, lol). We are also looking to move (contemplating something smaller/cheaper to save $$ so we can buy in a year)...every year when our lease is about up, I spend time from Jan-April just to see what else is out there. In the last few months, I've seen other rentals...similiar concept...subdivision, 3-4 bedroom, 1800-2200, nice housing (I'm super picky and won't live in anything that is run down, or unsafe neighborhood...want a community pool, etc)...and $1200-$1400 is pretty average. If someone is paying $1500 or more...they either have a REALLY nice big house or if they are being ripped off, lol.
Craigslist is not the end all, be all of finding a rental these days. Way to many scams. Better to do a search for Property Management company and look directly on their site for listings. Rentals are also listed on Trulia.
Check out zillow.com or trulia with the search rent feature.
