"Construction should break ground in July at the corner of Highway 101 and Interstate 85, Britt said."

I'm starting to doubt that now. Not seeing any activity there so far.

Has the site been completely cleaned up for new construction?

The site is just an empty field still where the older facility that once stood there was torn down a long time ago. Mostly just over grown grass, a few trees, and I think an old liquid storage tank on the back edge of the lot. Wouldn't take much to get started.

My guess is they're waiting on the sewer work to get done first.

Here is an article with some information about it. Sewer construction was to be completed this past May due to the aggressive schedule.

Smells fishy to me.

The Charlesron Bass Pro is facing delays as well. Was supposed to open this year, now they say 1 or 2, so potentially 2017. It was announced 2013. If they dont hurry, Cabelas could become the dominant, both here and the lowcountry, despite BP's name brand.

Seems to be taking an awful long time, they will never make the original 2016 store opening target at this rate.

You'll live. Plus there is always Cabelas which is better anyways along with your local shops.
