In response to Amy's article (link above), Bass Pro Shops commented "We hope to open the Spartanburg County, SC store in the next year or two."

The opening, originally projected for early 2016, is obviously postponed. As long as it is still a go and construction starts soon, Bass Pro Shops will be worth the wait.

I'm not convinced they're still coming.

To my knowledge they do this in every market they enter. (and yes, sometimes they bow out)
I can't imagine what they get out of it, but they really do seem to manipulate the construction and opening schedule.

Concord Mills in Concord, North Carolina does not have any onsite lodging. Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville, Georgia has Country Inns and Suites as an outparcel.

Hoteliers that may join Bass Pro Shops can range from budget to five star hotels.

Concord Mills has no lodging directly on the property but many mid rise hotels on that exit including a Great Wolf Lodge.

I am close to three BP stores, two, the larger ones, and none of them have on site brands of any note. The smaller one is part of a shopping center and the other two are free standing. They have various hotels and businesses nearby, but I am not aware of an entourage of any specific businesses that just have to show up.
